Visual Media B.A. (Graphic Arts and Media Technology Track)

Mission Statement

The Bachelor of Arts in Visual Media (Graphic Arts and Media Technology Track) is a unique program in Nevada, allowing students graduating from Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC) and completing a third-year certificate to earn their Bachelor of Arts from Nevada State without leaving the TMCC campus. They’ll also learn how to navigate the business of visual media, gain important soft skills in communication and visual literacy, complete portfolio work, and gain professional experience.

Program Learning Outcomes

In addition to their AA technical coursework for Visual Media at TMCC, the NSU student completing the BA degree will be able to:

  1. Apply a knowledge of the historical development of visual media to analyses of graphic design and animated works, and in the production of historically informed works.
  2. Apply critical frames and theoretical models to analyses of graphic design and animated works, and in the production of socially conscious and theoretically grounded visual works.
  3. Demonstrate skilled use of equipment and technology in the production of graphic design and animated works.
