Placement or Credit by Exam

The department may approve and facilitate placement exam or credit by exam. A placement exam advances qualified students to classes appropriate to skill level, but does not grant credit for waived classes. Students placing out of classes will be required to complete 18 total credits, selecting from the following list to make up the balance of credits not filled by the language courses or elective listed above. ENG 292 Introduction to Chicano Literature; ENG 293 Latin American Literature; ETS 375 US Latino/a-Chicano/a Experience; HIST 320 Hispanic Culture in the US; HIST 444 Latinos in the American West; HIST 470 History of Mexico. Students who receive credit by exam will not need to take additional classes.
