The Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) degree in Allied Health Sciences (AHS) provides a baccalaureate pathway for students who have earned select two-year Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees. Students complete an approved AAS degree and additional health sciences coursework; they then transfer to NSC for their senior year to earn the BAS-Allied Health Sciences. The coursework at NSC focuses on interpersonal and written communications, leadership, and the social and cultural contexts of health care.
The BAS-Allied Health Sciences major is open to students who completes an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree at a regionally accredited institution from the following fields: Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Health Information Technology, Ophthalmic Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiation Technology, or Surgical Technology.

Recommended Schedule
A recommended course sequence for Allied Health Sciences B.A.S. is provided for students as guidance to complete their major in four years.
Completion of an AAS in an Eligible Field
Students must complete an AAS in one of the following fields:
- Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Health Information Technology
- Ophthalmic Technology
- Physical Therapist Assistant
- Radiation Therapy Technology
- Surgical Technology
Students may transfer in up to 90 credits. Courses are evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
