Transfer Admissions

Admission with advanced undergraduate standing is granted to a student transferring from another accredited college or university provided that:

  1. The applicant is in good standing and eligible to return to the educational institution last attended.
  2. Twelve (12) transferable credits have been completed and a 2.0 cumulative grade point average has been achieved.
    1. Applicants with 11 or fewer completed transferable credits must fulfill both the freshman and transfer admission requirements. The high school record must meet the minimum grade point 2.5 average/ the college record must meet the minimum grade point average on all transferable credits 2.0 completed.

When admitting a student, the institution may consider the student's standing at a previously attended institution, including, but not limited to, records or disciplinary action.

Individuals who have registered at other educational institutions may not disregard such records and submit an application on the basis of their high school or selected college transcripts. Any student is subjected to cancellation of admission if all admission requirements are not satisfied.

Applicants who are admitted to the college on the basis of incomplete or fraudulent credentials or misrepresentations in the written application shall have their;

  1. Admission and registration cancelled without refund of any fees;
  2. Total credits rescinded that have been earned following such admissions; and
  3. Future registration at the college prohibited.

Conditional Admission

Students that submit “in progress” transcripts are admitted to the institution conditionally. To clear their conditional admission status, a final transcript must be submitted to the Admissions and Recruitment Office as soon as it is available. Failure to submit the final transcript will automatically place a hold on the student account and will prevent the student from enrolling in future semesters.

In-State Transfer Students

Applicants wishing to transfer to Nevada State College from another institution within the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) must fulfill the same requirements as those applicants who are not enrolled with the NSHE.

Applicants who completed an Associate of Business (A.B.), Associate of Art (A.A.), or Associate of Science (A.S.) from a Nevada System of Higher Education institution will be admitted to Nevada State College regardless of the cumulative grade point average.  Those applicants whose grade point average are less than 2.0 on a 4.0 scale will be admitted on probationary status.

Transfer Agreement

Transfer agreements are officially approved agreements that match coursework between Nevada State College (NSC) and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) community colleges. These agreements are designed to make the transfer into Nevada State College as easy as possible for the student.

If you are a student transferring from a Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) community college and have completed an Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), or Associate of Business (AB) degree, you may be admitted to Nevada State College with full junior status. You will not need to take any additional classes to satisfy NSC's Core Curriculum requirements.
