CHEM 447 Advanced Synthesis Laboratory

CHEM 447 offers students the ability to master an advanced organic laboratory skillset that will be valuable for those preparing for undergraduate research, graduate studies in chemistry, or employment in chemical industry. Techniques such as rotoevaporation, air-tight chemistry including the use of a glovebox, the use of nitrogen lines and high vacuum, and temperature-controlled reaction setups (from -78 °C to 220 °C) will be mastered through the course. Pre-requisite(s): CHEM 121, CHEM 122, CHEM 241, and CHEM 242 with a C- or better.
