Fees

The Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) establishes tuition and fees for Nevada State University, according to the process described in the NSHE Board of Regents Handbook, Title IV, Chapter 17, Section 1. Tuition is assessed to students who are not residents of Nevada, while registration fees are assessed to all students. 

  • The tuition and fees listed below are applicable to the summer 2024, fall 2024, and spring 2025 terms.  
  • Tuition and fees are due by the due date(s) listed on the academic calendar for each semester. Students who are on a payment plan must pay by the date payment plan installments are due.
  • Students with unpaid charges will not be permitted to enroll in a future semester, order their transcripts, or receive their diploma until payment is arranged. This hold will be applied at all NSHE institutions as per the NSHE Board of Regents Handbook, Title IV, Chapter 17, Section 2.1.
  • Students with delinquent accounts receivable of $100.00 or more may be referred to a collection agency following written notification to the student.

Public Law 115-407, Section 103 and 104

In accordance with the Veterans Benefits and Transition Act of 2018, section 3679(e) of title 38 (Public Law 115-407), a student who is entitled to educational assistance under Chapter 31, Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment, or Chapter 33, Post-9/11 GI Bill® benefits shall be permitted to attend or participate in the course of education during the period beginning on the date on which the individual provides to the educational institution a Certificate of Eligibility for entitlement to educational assistance under Chapter 31 or 33 (a “Certificate of Eligibility” can also include a “Statement of Benefits” obtained from the Department of Veterans Affairs’ website – eBenefits, or a VAF 28-1905 form for Chapter 31) and ending on the earlier following dates:

  • The date on which payment from VA is made to the institution.
  • 90 days after the date the institution certified tuition and fees following the receipt of the Certification of Eligibility.

The University shall not impose any penalty, including he assessment of late fees, the denial of access to classes, libraries, or other institutional facilities, or require the student to borrow additional funds, in order to meet his or her financial obligations to the institution due to the delayed disbursement funding from VA under Chapter 31 or 33.

FEES, TUITION AND OTHER CHARGES SUBJECT TO CHANGE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE: Notwithstanding currently posted tuition and fees, all fees, tuition or other charges which students are required to pay each semester are subject to increase by action of the Board of Regents at any time before the commencement of classes (primarily due to budgetary shortfalls). The amount you are charged at the time of registration is not a final bill and may be increased. You will receive a supplemental invoice for any additional amounts which the Board of Regents may impose. Fee changes put in place less than 30 days before commencement of classes will not be subject to late fee penalties.

Online payments are a convenient, secure, and easy way to pay for your tuition and fee charges through your myNevadaState student account. Methods of payment accepted online include: Visa, Master Card, American Express, and Discover.

To make payment online, please go to your Student Center through the myNevadaState Portal (my.NevadaState.edu).

In Person

By credit card/debit card: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover.

By cash, check (checks payable to "Board of Regents"), and money order.

Funds may be withdrawn from your account the day we receive your payment. The Student Accounts & Cashiering Office is located in the Raker Student Success Center at Nevada State University, 1300 Nevada State Drive, Henderson, NV 89002.

Mailing

By checks and money orders. Do not send cash. Funds may be withdrawn from your account the day we receive your payment.

Payment Plan

Nevada State provides students with payment plans for fall, spring and summer semesters. Failure to make scheduled payments will result in placement of registration and transcript holds. For questions, please email sfs@nevadastate.edu.

Transcript Request Fee

Transcripts may be picked up or mailed to the student or a specific address. Transcripts can be sent via email using National Student Clearinghouse. Refer to the fees below:

Refund Procedures

A. The fee refund for all students in a 16 week course for withdrawal or net credit reduction shall be:

  1. One hundred percent (100%) refunded if initiated prior to the end of the second calendar week of instruction.

  2. No refund shall be granted thereafter.

B. The fee refund for summer session and all non-regular semester courses for withdrawal or net credit reduction shall be:

  1. One hundred percent (100%) refunded if initiated prior to the first twenty percent (20%) of the scheduled session class time.
  2. No refund shall be granted thereafter.
  3. For noncredit classes for academic credit classes taught as a part of a conference, institute, or intensive course, the refund policy will be described in the publicity material for the course and may vary from course to course depending upon the circumstances.

C. The Admissions application fee is nonrefundable.

D. Non-resident tuition shall be refunded in conformity with the above schedule for load reduction to six (6) credits or less and for withdrawal during the refund period.

E. Tuition refund dates shall be published on the Nevada State University Academic Calendar.
