DATA 410 Exploratory Data Analysis

A course in exploratory data analysis. Starting with raw data, students will create initial visualizations to explore the data, choose appropriate distributions to model it, and estimate the parameters. Hypothesis testing will be applied to determine whether the observed patterns are a result of chance with an emphasis on issues arising from large data sets. Pre-requisite(s): CS 135 or CS 138; STAT 152 or 152E.
