Indicators, causes, and impacts of financial challenges (e.g., sudden loss of income, credit difficulties, overspending, debt prioritization, predatory lenders, bankruptcy) and how to effectively assist clients facing these financial challenges; financial planning and counseling for young professionals; strategic use of debt; communication processes in helping individuals and families within the financial counseling and planning process and facilitating positive change in clients; behavioral finance concepts relating to individuals' financial decision making and their importance in the personal financial planning and counseling process.
