The RN to BSN program is for students who have passed (or will pass within 7 weeks of acceptance into the program) the National Council Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) exam and who are recognized as registered nurses holding an unencumbered nursing license. The innovative curriculum for this track is offered in an online format and includes both direct and indirect care activities that impact health outcomes. The goal of the program is to cultivate the Care within professional practice, which supports educational mobility and strengthens community health and leadership opportunities.
RN to BSN Track Prerequisites and Curriculum
Prerequisites (46 credits)
General Education Block Credits (37 credits)
RN to BSN students transferring from regionally accredited Associate Degree of Nursing (ADN) programs are eligible to receive 37 General Education Block Credits that will be counted towards the RN to BSN prerequisites. In addition to these 37 credits, the following additional prerequisite courses must be completed prior to program completion and in some cases are prerequisites to core NURS courses:

| NURS Prior Learning Credits from a Regionally Accredited ADN Program | 38.00 |
Prior Learning Credits: To avoid repetition of coursework as the RN student transitions to BSN completion, recognition is given for prior nursing coursework in the regionally accredited ADN, AS or Diploma nursing program and satisfactory completion of the NCLEX-RN licensure exam. Thus, students in the RN to BSN program receive a block transfer of 38 nursing credits which are automatically counted as in-residence upper division courses and 4-year college course credits even though these courses were not taken at NSC. These credits will be applied to the student’s transcript after successful completion of NURS 409 Theory of Caring Science.
