From these 24 credits, at least nine (9) must be selected from courses that fulfill either of the following requirements. Three (3) credits must be completed in category a and three (3) credits must be completed in category b :

primarily emphasize cultural/ethnic studies and social diversity within the United States (e.g. Latinos in the American West, African American History, US Women's History, etc.)

primarily focus on non-European and world history (e.g. African, Asian, Middle Eastern, or Latin American history)
