Library Services
The Marydean Martin Library’s physical collection includes over 18,000 volumes that serve the college in support of its academic mission. In addition to physical resources, students have access to a variety of electronic resources through over 40 specialized online databases, 90,000+ electronic books, and streaming media. Full Internet access is available on the 69 computer workstations, with specialized software for students with disabilities. Wi-fi is available throughout the Library. Study spaces include quiet study rooms, group areas, and a SmartBoard study room. Access to Library Service is available online through the Library’s website http://nsc.edu/library.asp, the College’s course management system, online subject guides http://nsc.nevada.libguides.com, Google+ http://goo.gl/xlxeL and Facebook http://goo.gl/abKjN. Research help is available to students through reference assistance provided at the service desk, through chat, text, and email reference services, or through a scheduled research consultation. The Library’s main branch, the Marydean Martin Library, is located in the Dawson building, and a secondary branch is located in the Basic and Water II building. Additionally, Nevada State College students have on-site circulation privileges and borrowing rights among NSHE libraries as well as an interlibrary loan service that circulates materials quickly between local and national library members.
