Welcome to Nevada State University. I am honored to serve as president and excited to welcome you to the Scorpion community.

Nevada State is a university defined by opportunity and strengthened by its people. Our students bring determination, ambition, and diverse experiences to their education, while our faculty and staff share a deep commitment to helping them succeed. Together, we are creating an environment where students are encouraged to pursue their goals, discover new possibilities, and prepare for their futures.

As a first-generation college graduate, I know personally the transformative power of higher education. A college degree can change the trajectory of an individual's life, open new doors, and strengthen entire communities. That understanding shapes my commitment to Nevada State and to ensuring that more students have access to higher education.

Since its founding, Nevada State has opened doors to higher education and responded to the evolving needs of our state. Today, we continue that important work by broadening access, advancing student success, and equipping graduates with the knowledge and skills to contribute to their professions and communities.

As I begin my tenure at Nevada State, one of my greatest priorities is listening and learning from the people who know this university best. I look forward to building relationships with our students, faculty, staff, alumni, supporters, and community partners while working together to build on Nevada State's strong momentum and shape what comes next.

To our students, I encourage you to make the most of your Nevada State experience. Engage with your professors, connect with your classmates, and explore opportunities beyond the classroom. Seek out the people and resources that will support you along the way. Your education is more than the courses required to earn your degree. It is a chance to develop your talents, broaden your perspective, and prepare to make a difference.
