CHEM 456 Medical Biochemistry

This course in Medical Biochemistry focuses on human health and disease. The course will build on fundamentals learned in previous biochemistry and biology courses to provide a systems approach understanding of human diseases. Medical biochemistry will discuss underlying biochemistry of selected diseases which affect cell physiology. Examples of human diseases discussed in this course include cancer, cardiovascular diseases, neurodegenerative diseases and metabolic diseases such as diabetes. Pre-requisite(s): CHEM 474 with a "C-" or better.
