SPA 330 Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Language Mechanism

Introduction to the anatomy, physiology and neuromuscular systems pertaining to speech, language, and hearing. The interaction of the respiratory system with phonation and its modification by resonation and articulation will be emphasized. Neural control of speech production and the cerebral organization of language will be discussed. Pre-requisite(s): BIOL 189 (The pre-requisite(s) does not apply to Post Baccalaureate Speech Pathology and Masters Preparatory Plan students.)
