Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in English Language Acquisition and Development
The Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in English Language Acquisition and Development is designed to prepare teachers of English language learners in K-12 mainstream instructional contexts. Coursework in the certificate is designed to deepen a teachers' knowledge of the theories of second language acquisition, contemporary issues related to the education of English language learners and emergent bilinguals, assessment of language learning, and methods for supporting the academic language development of linguistically diverse students.
Certificate completers will need to apply for an Endorsement to Teach English as a Second Language (TESL) through the Nevada Department of Education.
