COM 488 Global Media Seminar

This course will ask students to critically examine and analyze the values and underlying messages conveyed by various types of media content (music, photographs, newspaper articles, news reports, advertisements, television shows, movies, documentaries, public relations materials, websites, etc.) from around the world in the interest of helping them develop a better understanding of how this media content shapes views of politics, culture and society on the global stage. Pre-requisite(s): COM 101 and COM 216
