CHEM 475 Biochemistry II

A continuation of CHEM 474 that includes the chemistry and structure-function relationship of carbohydrates in living systems. This course focuses on the detailed reactions involved in intermediary metabolism, catabolic and anabolic pathways, and metabolic regulation of carbohydrates, lipids, amino acids and nucleotides. This course will emphasize the interactions and comparative aspects of microorganisms, plants and animals. Pre-requisite(s): CHEM 474 with a grade of C- or better.
