SPP 750 Crisis Prevention and Intervention for Children and Youth

The purpose of this course is to (a) understand the role of school psychologists in providing evidence-based crisis prevention and intervention in schools within a multi-tiered system of support; (b) gain skills in delivering these interventions with individual students and groups of students; (c) apply the cultural ecological framework to the conceptualization of students¿ difficulties; (d) assess trauma and risk in students; (e) develop self-awareness of one¿s clinical skills delivering these strategies, and strategies for self-care.
